Durasteel is easier to find than in vanilla by a heavy margin. Both Starbound and Terraria have very rough starts where you have no idea what to do or where to go. Every tier 4 vanilla planet will have it (as per the game storyline via esther). Most FU biomes of tier4 level will also contain it. That means it appears in way more places than in vanilla. Sounds like you are simply surface-skimming and not finding it. But Starbound actually gives you some idea of what to do next. In Terraria, you only had the vague hints of some freeloader who took residence in your house without your permission. Terraria's real guide was the online wiki.Īnd again, I do feel some disappointment in looking over some of the scrapped features in some of the reviews. Space encounters (anomalies, hostile ships, friendly ships, and non-player space stations) are the only places where you can find mech blueprints (you need to have a mech to access space encounters). However, never having played the beta, I don't know how good said features were or how much they added to the game. This armor mirrors stats of tiered racial armor, but has alternative appearances. The chance of finding a blueprint isn't too good, though, so you will likely have to clear several space encounters between blueprint finds. The materials required for these sets is Refined Violium and Solarium Star.Ī variety of protective armor can also be found or purchased, most is sold by merchants. Firearms, staves and wands remain effective with this armor but receive no specific advantages, allowing melee weapons to edge ahead in performance. This offsets the higher damage received when using melee weapons. The Separator's Table is used to craft survival focused armor with an improved health bonus. The materials required for these sets is Refined Ferozium and Solarium Star. If you prefer to use a wide variety of weapon types this armor type is the best choice. Firearms are more powerful but short-lived with this armor type and melee users will be more vulnerable than they are used to and forced to play offensively. Naturally, all weapon types benefit from a raw damage boost, however staves and wands benefit the most and this armor is designed with them in mind. The Manipulator's Table is used to craft offensive combat armor with a high attack power bonus. The materials required for these sets is Refined Aegisalt and Solarium Star. Certain techs that use Energy, such as Sprint, can be used for longer with this armor type. Additionally, the energy bonus is enough to allow some melee weapons to use their special secondary attack more than once before triggering an energy wipeout and cooldown. Whilst it can also help staff and wand users, these weapons quickly restore energy after the initial tech casting so the benefit is reduced. It's specialized for use in combination with firearm weapons. The Accelerator's Table is used to craft ranged combat armor with increased energy generation. Each tier provides incrementally better stats. Armor is not procedurally generated.Įarly tiered armor is made using an anvil, followed by a forge and replicator. Armor equipped in cosmetic slots will be visible, but the player will not gain its stats or special effects.Īvailable sources of armor are crafting, trading and looting. A separate cosmetic option is available for each slot that lets the player receive the stat bonuses from one armor and visually wear another. Pants: Can provide extra health, defense, energy and attack power.īack: Can provide a passive ability or be simply aesthetic.Īrmor is equipped by dragging it from storage in the Inventory screen to the appropriate armor slot. Head: Can provide extra health, defense, energy and attack power.Ĭhest: Can provide extra health, defense, energy and attack power. There are four slots for armor available: Head, chest, legs and back. Assuming the armor is the same Tier, all armor has the same Defense stat, suggesting Defense is used purely to offset the increased creature damage found on more dangerous planets. Health is the primary stat for melee armor while Energy is favored for firearm use and raw Attack Power is the favored choice of staff and wand users. Armor's main function is to provide protection and passive bonuses to multiple stats, such as health, defense, energy and attack power.
